Sherlock Cast

Benedict Cumberbatch as Sherlock Holmes. Sherlock Holmes is the main character of this hit TV show. The Sherlock series is based on his adventures with his room-mate and friend John Watson who unexpectedly meet when the two mention to a friend that they are looking for a flatmate to live in London with. His character grows a lot personally as the show expands.

Martin Freeman as Doctor John Watson. John Watson is an army doctor that suffers from a psychosomatic limp due to the traumatic events he lived through while being in Iraq. He becomes Sherlock's most trusted friend and flatmate and blogs about the cases he helps Sherlock solve. The relationship between John and Sherlock changes throughout the show.

Amanda Abbington as Mary Watson. Mary Watson is John Watson's girlfriend who later in the show becomes his wife. She is a strong independent woman that enjoys taking part in solving crimes with Sherlock and John and immediately warms up to Sherlock upon first meeting him.

Andrew Scott as Jim Moriarty. Jim Moriarty is Sherlock's arch-nemesis and enjoys "playing" with Sherlock and John. He describes himself as a consulting criminal. He is present throughout the entire show and often returns at the most unexpected moments.

Louise Brealey as Molly Hooper. Molly Hooper works in a morgue and often helps Sherlock and John when they solve crimes. She is an important yet underestimated character in the show.

Mark Gatiss as Mycroft Holmes. Mycroft Holmes is Sherlock's older brother that works for the British Government. Although he does show much emotion, it is evident that he cares for his younger brother and will go to great lengths to protect Sherlock.

Una Stubbs as Mrs.Hudson. Mrs.Hudson is Sherlock and John's housekeeper and plays mother hen to the boys. She has an interesting past and helps the boys by providing for them and being a "mother" to them.

Rupert Graves as Greg Lestrade. Greg Lestrade is the head of the London police and will often go to Sherlock when he is confused about a case. He often brings his toughest cases to Sherlock and will often go seeking for his advice.

Jonathan Aris as Anderson. Anderson is a London police officer that does not like Sherlock and Sherlock does not like him. They do not get along and often bicker back and forth throughout the show. We find later in the show that although Anderson and Sherlock have a terrible relationship, Anderson still believes in Sherlock and knows that his ways are best.
